Well I pray the final shoe dropped today for my husbands days of alcoholism and addiction.
About a year before he passed he stole one of my check books and wrote checks from here to kingdom come......
I have been to numerous hearings trying to straighten all of this out....well today the sheriff showed up at my door to take me to jail.....3 yrs after the fact OMG.
Well by the grace of God I wasn't home....am usually home...called them told them it was him not me they said I have to turn myself in and it could take up to 3 days in jail for the judge to straighten it out....are they CRAZY.
I am praying to God that I can work this out somehow....I was in the hospital at the time he wrote the checks plus the signature doesn't match.....working on getting my records hospital closed since this time...
Just when you think all is well and there is a God, this shat happens.
I still believe there is a god....just praying he answers this one.....just another set-back in a world I am trying so hard to move forward in.
Oh and my kids were here......we sat down and had a cry....I contacted an attorney they cost so much...have to go to public defender on Tuesday...guess I will just hide until then......crazy but true.
Soooo very Sorry for your pain.... My Abrother did the same to me, but thank goodness they Caught HIM on camera giving the check so that is about the only thing that saved me...
You have been thru so much, and any more the court systems are not Kind to anyone but the addicts, that get that as an excuse to live there lives, my Abrother has been in (4) DWI's and yet still walks the streets... He has been busted with Pot (3) times, and still walks the streets, and buys cars and don't get them legal, and drives around STILL drunk, and they keep releasing him to the streets, and then to have a deal like yours, and them not understand your pain...
I will keep you in my prayers... Love & Hugs to you to get thru the night....& the Week... I will be prayin for you
And another part of your story to share with new comers and those struggling to get the program. I'll be here to support you too as you walk through it. Be honest and fearless. That is what works more for me and what my HP wants for my part. (((((hugs)))))
I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. My prayers are with you. I know I am still very much dealing with the aftermath of the ex A's acting out 2 years on.
Ask the cops if when it is that they know that a pending false arrest is a false arrest and when to believe the pending false arrested person. Get legal aid quickly or a lawyer if you can or if you have one already call she or him now.
A nice false arrest lawsuit will get the court and cops' attention and put some $$$ in your pocket.

Andrea, Your in my prayers hun. DO you have a local community action agency? Maybe they can point you in the right direction for legal help. If you lived in Washington state I could help.
Take care of you.
Yours in recovery, Mandy
