The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
I'm Rinn and I'm new to this Alanon Online group. Some of you have seen me in the Alanon chatroom but for those who haven't (which is probably a lot) I'll tell you my story.
I've been in Alanon since June of 2009. Currently my mom has been sober for 7 months. I was a codependent (and I guess now I'm a recovering codependent) of my mom from my sophomore year of high school to my first few years of college. Right now I'm a senior in college but because I skipped a couple semesters and was part time for so long, I've still got a couple years to go. I'm going for a bachelor's in secondary art education. Yeah, I plan on teaching highschoolers.
I've also got a few relatives that are also under the disease of alcoholism but are in denial about it. I've detached from most of them because they put me in a lot of stress and they aren't healthy. I want to surround myself with healthy people.
Right now I'm just trying to enjoy life in college and also trying to live with my mom. Sometimes we butt heads but we're really close. Also, trying to live with my job...retail is annoying.
Anyways, that's pretty much it. Hope I get to know you all better.
