just an update

Someone we have known for years found out he has cirrhosis of the liver and the doctor told him if he wanted to live he had to quit drinking. He quit drinking and I'm glad that he did. He drank for many years. It was so nice to talk to him sober.

My bf got laid off from his job Friday because they don't have any more work. He was offered to work as the doorman at a bar yesterday. When he told me he said "I know you are going to be upset about this." I surprised him because I was not upset. Instead we went there together and had a good time. We had not been there in forever.

While I was shooting pool with our friend I glanced over to him and I can not tell you what a good feeling it was to see him drink water in there while everyone else was drinking beer. I am so thankful for this.

The other day I told him how I felt about something and he thought I would go on and on about it and complain. Wrong again. I just said what I had to say without arguing or anything like that and that was it.

We also have been doing more stuff together which feels nice. I think we are both more aware of eachother now and treat eachother nicer than before. I know there is progress in both of us. Hopefully it keeps getting better.

Hi,
my partner is in early sobriety and we went to a concert on Friday he too sat there drinking water while evryone had a drink.  Thanks for the reminder that I should be grateful for how far he has come instead of projecting how far we both have to go
thanks again
