The simple things in life..

It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

Laura Ingalls Wilder said that, and she was right. This seems such simple stuff, such simplistic knowledge, yet when we truly embrace it as our living reality, our day-to-day lives begin to change in very important ways.

So take a look today and this evening at what sweet, simple things of life you may be looking past, or right over, and neither seeing nor enjoying.  Look closely.  They are likely to be right in front of your face -- something you're looking through every day.

~Neale Donald Walsch~

Don't wish for it...  You can Choose it!!

I can get crabby just like anyone else, but when there is a conscious effort to choose happiness, the crabbiness is for a much shorter time.
And truly, seeking out the simple things that make us happy makes a world of difference.  Within us and to others.

For instance...Behind my house is a field of trees.  There is one very large, old tree waaaay in the back.  It looks like it should be in a picture, it's beautiful.  It has great big trunk and limbs that reach out and up like arms.
In the evening, when the sun is going down, it hits the field just right so that the smaller trees are in the shade and the big beautiful tree is still standing high in the sun.
It's almost like it is saying.."Look at me and the gift I'm giving you".

A simple thing for sure, but if I'm home I always look and say an internal thank you and recognize it's beauty.

Loved this, but is it a copywrite thing again??? I just got horse whippped for that. haha

oh love your tree, here is mine. Out in the pasture next to me is a very old apple tree. Looks like this huge branch got blown down but still attached. It is all curled and has this beautiful squiggley other apple wood growing in the branch.

I want so much to saw this piece off and bring it into my house before some idiot cuts it and burns it! Make it into a bedframe.

Yep dear I too love simple. I could sit and watch my crazy animals for hours....and I do. love, deb

Trees......love them,....along with rivers. There's a beautiful little river winds through our village bordered by an ancient woodland......the reflections in the water....WOW....'sometimes I sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits' Can't remember where that quote is from but it's great!

But best of all....re discovering the simple things all over again with my little grand daughter (age 2)...my lifesaver....splashing in puddles, jumping on beds, playing hide'n'seek....and her current favourite.....chase me.... which involves a lot of giggling.....( blimey no wonder I'm tired!!)....yep it's the simple life does it for me!!

Thanks Christy

Not to worry Debilynn..
Neale Donald Walsch didn't publish that in a book.  (lucky me)   It's just something he said.
I don't think he'd care anyway if it was a gift to anyone in any way.  That's his mission.
But then again he quoted Wilder..lol  I think quotes are safe  :)

Hello and Hugs,

OMG..my tree! My tree is an oak tree. When we first bought our house 5 years ago it was perfectly round. It was refreshing and was a symbol of new beginnings and a hopeful future. Since then that tree has been broken and battered by two major hurricanes. Yet, it still stands strong, just a little damaged and still growing. Funny how my life has been like that tree, bought this home as a new begining, broken and battered from life with an A, still fighting to stand strong. WOW...

Sincerely,
Tonya
