It was pointed out to me by two other moderators of this room that my posting of the daily literature ODAAT in Al-Anon, is copyrighted literature. This is not allowed by WSO and it states in the Al-anon/Alateen service manual that "The WSO does not grant permisison for substantial reprints of CAL".

I just wanted to add my apologies for this slip in my judgement. I didn't realize when debylin (also a moderator) asked me to post these readings that it was against WSO rules. I guess I should have realized this sooner because it is copyrighted literature.

Again I apologize for the slip and wouldn't want to do anything to potentially hurt this site or harm Al-Anon as a whole.

I would not be overly concerned about it. This issue reappears periodically, which is a good thing in my mind because it brings much needed attention to our CAL.

That being said, I think that the key is how we cite to the CAL. We should not "substantially" reprint the material. In my opinion, we are not precluded from including key phrases, sentences or portions of CAL in our posts.

As an aside, I believe that the board is likely more in jeopardy with WSO for representing itself to be an "Al-Anon Family Group" when it has not (to my knowledge) been registered with WSO than it is for violating copyright laws.
