****Sooo for me today this was a tough one... I went to the mail and got out my Test Results I have been dreading... For good reason... So Choles. was Up to 216... WOW... BAD Very BAD... BUT... On a good note, My Tryglycerides that at one time was up over 880... was down to 120.. Not Great But ALOT BETTER...
So how do I look at this... Welp... I now know that I have to go get me some of those "Red yeast Rice" Herbs and start get'n that Choles. back DOWN...
After my Addictions post, I realized that this would have to come to a head in order for me to get busy, she wants to test me in 4-6 months again on it, and then see if I need meds... So I guess if I am going to STAND UP and TAKE ACTION, I have that as a time line to getter done... My doctor is so good to me, and she does talk to me, but I know that I have to add more exsercise somewere to my life, because that is what is holding me back...
I know that I have alot of good traits, and this is just one that needs some polishing, I am just asking HP to keep my addictions to a minimal so I can keep up :) Guess its time to get busy again, with this up and coming holiday Picnic Weekend will be just hte test... and now after sharing it with all of you, I guess I really have to get my butt in motion (Literaly), and see some results...
So anyone out that knows how to kick cholesterol weather it be food, vitamans or what ever, I don't care to have to take over the counter stuff, I want to take this on as my Personal drive to recovery in Food and Addictions :)
Thanks for listening :) Love & Prayers
Jozie

plant sterols were excellent for me with cholestoral for this meaning foods with soem of this in, no more than 1g to 2g a day, it kicks the bad cholesterol, I am truly grateful for your post, and especially the hp bit, try not to worry, not great for this, and exercise is fab for it,
I know I know!!! <---------Debilyn waving from the back row...
Low to non fat foods, lots of water. Whole grain everything. NO white stuff.
Eat more vegetarian meals, or go vegetarian. When you eat eggs just use one yolk or two and however many whites. Feed the yolks to your dogs, cats birds....
100% grape juice,no sugar no additives.
NO red meat, get salmon. There are lots of great vegie burgers, morning star vegie burger, the one that has water chestnuts is great.
I use fake morning star bacon and sausage.
You need to know, many times it is your own body producing too much cholesteral. So the more you change your diet the better.
Whole grain cereal with soy or rice milk or non fat milk.
Mozzarella low fat is the least fat cheese. ummmm low fat cream cheese.
NOn fat yougurt. A very good womans mulit vitamin. 4,000 vit D calcium, magnesium zinc.
Mine was over 350. Our family has a problem with that. So we all are vegies, the ones left...sounds real good. sigh.
Anyway low fat ice cream, better sorbet and real fruit pop cicles. ummm there are these good chocolate non fat cookies at walmart for abuck a box.
Does this help???? AND smile, walk, walk some more, come to my house and help me feed! ride elgin.....let the puppies out every fifteen min.....
All is a help to me, for I did it once before, but of course once I got comfortable again in my body, I start going the Opiosite direction again for some reason... Could that be an ACOA thing? For it seems everytime I "Like" myself again, I go right back to self distruction ? Hummm Guess there is still work to do :)
Starting my New Food Habits July 6th.. :) On more picnic before I go :)
Love & Hugs to ya both, and Thanks Deb for I knew some of that stuff, but not all ;) and I never try'd a Veggie burger, only Turkey burgers, so Looking forward to that ... I am get'n started on my Water again tho, I use to drink about 4 32 oz Flavored waters a day, and now I am lucky to drink one, so going to take that back on... And I am plan'n a couple longer walks this weekend, just to get me movin...
