Overcoming procrastination.

I am on a roll in terms of decluttering and have some major projects to do.  I need to get them done shortly as my life is going in many different directions now.  I need to step up and take care of this.  I am posting this so I have to make a update on the issue regularly. There is always something that gets in the way of making a commitment to this decluttering.

biggrin.gif I have been putting off finishing painting my upstairs play room and hallway - it's been half done for just over a month now...

Thanks for the inspiration and the reminder!

Mary one time I read that keeping stuff, unneeded clutter etc. is becuz that is the only way some people feel they are really here.

Not sure if that makes sense. My friend had to have pathways thru her house!

I know you are not like that. just yakking atcha.

Hugs, deb

Wow, can I relate to this.  I'll give u esh that others shared with me on this issue:  since u want to do this asap or in a certain time frame -- make a list/plan of attack & then set a time(s) aside in each day in which u will get up and make progress for 15 minutes & walk away.  Do this until it is done or until you begin to simply work on it more.  You can do 15 every hour or however u like it.

Making lists helps me tackle projects & break them down, plus I get the boon of checking tasks off that complete a project/thing.

Once u set a goal & accomplish a task, it genuinely allows u to feel so much better about yourself... I encourage u to get at it.  *smiles*

I try to do decluttering one hour a day.  I think that's pretty difficult in going to the storage unit but I am going to give it a shot.  Obviously some days I do not get to it but I try to make some measurable progress every week.
