I would just search Narc anon chat room.

My experience is addiction is addiction, it does not matter what the drug of choice is.

What I have noticed is the A tended to do both at the same time, alcohol and whatever.

Our  part is no different than if  he drank alcohol only. We don't change. What you choose out of your tool box is what you feel fits the situation.

It is so sad he has gotten into even harder stuff.

Hope you are ok! love,debilyn

My ex is a crack addicted sex addict with a severe mental illness and personality disoders. I don't know if there is a chat room for that! LOL! But I have found peace and love here in the rooms of alanon.

I would hazzard a guess that these days, most A's are addicted to some sort of drug also. I used to wish that I would meet just a plain ole alcoholic in the rooms of AA. I have but they are usually over the age of 65. Then again, my father's partner was 65 and a crack addict also.

As debilyn said, it doesn't really matter what the substance is, this program is about us and how we can learn and grow.

Good luck!!

My ex is a heroin/cocaine addict and hasn't had a problem with alcohol. However, I attend Al-Anon because I feel comfortable in the groups in this area and I still find the tools useful--even though my qualifier's problem isn't alcohol.

It might be useful for you to read some books, or look at some information online about your qualifier's new drug of choice. Withdrawals from alcohol is not the same as heroin withdrawals, but the disease of addiction seems the same.

Besides, Al-Anon is about us, not our qualifiers!

Wishing good luck and recovery to you!
