Just for today

My thoughts on Just For Today, a poem that is a bookmark in our program. I would like to extend a challenge to anyone that wants to participate, to work this into your life today, too, Just for Today:

Just for today I will try to live through this day only and not tackle all my problems at once. I can do something for 12 hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Just for today I will not worry about all the things on my "to do" list I will just try to do the "next right thing".

Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Happiness is a Choice for me today, that I will chose to make.

Just for today I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my "luck" as it comes, and fit myself it it.

Just for today I will accept that I am going through a divorce and that everything will not necessarily go my way with that.

Just for today I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

I will read the morning paper this morning. Something that my 86 year old mom does every morning. I will adopt this practice, Just for today, to learn something new.

Just for today I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out if anybody knows of it, it will not count. I will do at least two things I don't want to do-just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.

I will trust my HP to guide me to someone that needs a helping hand today. I don't want to do the dishes and I don't want to do the laundry, but I will just for the exericise. This is a big one for me because I've been procrastinating on this one for awhile now. I will also rely on my HP to not show that my feelings are hurt.

Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, keep my voice low, be courteous, criticize not one bit. I won't find fault with anything nor try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.

I will take a shower this morning and get cleaned up. I will ask my HP to help me do the agreeable, courteous, non-criticizing bit, that will be hard.

Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, bt I will have it. I will save myself from two pests hurry and indecision.

I will make a "to do" list today to guide me through my day.

Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all by myself and relax. During this half hour, sometime, I will try to get a better perspective of my life.

I will go to my father's gravesite today, and ponder the perspective of my life. This is a favorite place of mine to go, as it is in the country and very remote and quiet. It lends itself to reflection and introspection.

Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

I am afraid of so many things today, I will try to lay them aside, Just for today. I will enjoy the sunrise/sunset, the birds outside my window, the falling of the rain, my flowers in my flower garden, my family, and my God.

I will let you know tomorrow how my Just for Today challenge went for me. I challenge you too, to live Just for Today.

Hi (((Overcome)))

Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

I am afraid of so many things today, I will try to lay them aside, Just for today. I will enjoy the sunrise/sunset, the birds outside my window, the falling of the rain, my flowers in my flower garden, my family, and my God.

Great share just what I needed for today smile one I will keep and reread.

I'm going out to enjoy the sunshine now instead of sitting here obsessing.

With Gratitude Carol

Just for today I will try to live through this day only and not tackle all my problems at once. I can do something for 12 hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Everything that needs to be done can't be done today and I know this. I will do what I can get done just for today and not be mad at myself for not getting everything done.

Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

I have heard this many times if I make myself think I am happy I will be in a better mood.  Just for today I will be happy!

Just for today I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will not be a mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

I will continue reading through the 98 page hand guide so I can do better at much job and have a better understanding of their rules and guidelines.

Just for today I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out if anybody knows of it, it will not count. I will do at least two things I don't want to do-just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.

I will do something good for somebody today and tell not anyone about it ! I will do 2 things I don't want to do: laundry, dishes, sweeping, mopping (already took out garbage). It's not the best exercise to do, but I will feel better with a clean house and I know it will only get done if I do it. My feelings are hurt and I will not show this to anyone  because it is my business just for today. Fake it till you make it!

Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, keep my voice low, be courteous, criticize not one bit. I won't find fault with anything nor try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.

I will get in the shower, wear something nice, put make up on (try to do this daily because I feel better). I will be a nice person today! I will worry abuot myself today and not anyone else just for today!

Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, bt I will have it. I will save myself from two pests hurry and indecision.

I am pretty good at trying to follow my program and just for today I will save myself from hurry and indecision which I often don't do, but for today I will!

Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all by myself and relax. During this half hour, sometime, I will try to get a better perspective of my life.

Just for today when my youngest naps I will sit outside alone and make myself a to do list on what needs to be done so I can't get out of this A home and get my own place. I will relax, I will talk to my HP.

ust for today I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.

I wont be afraid today of where i will be living next week or next month. I know for today I have a place to stay.
