I have been in this forum since 2004 and have always been known as Java, because of a mistake on my part when signing up on the message board. When asked what my user name was, I confused that with "server name" and put Java! lol I never could figure out how to change it so it's always been Java in here and I've been Overcome in chat. I enterd the MIP Chat room in 2003 and have been greatly helped by this website. I can not tell you all the crisis it has pulled me through.
Someone finally told me that I could sign in and re-register as a new user so now I am Overcome. Since this is a simple program, people in chat and people on the message board will know they are talking to the same person, me, Lisa! Not two differnent people Java and Overcome.
I think this is ironic because sometimes I felt like I could hide something from the people in the chat room by posting it in here and not be completely honest. That is not working an honest program and this is an honest program. So from now on I'm holding myself accountable for that by being the same person all places, in my on-line life and in my real life. I don't need to be different things to different people. That's not being honest.

Thanks, Rosielightshines, my nick does have a story behind it. When I first came into the MIP forum I was overcome with my husband's addiction to pornography which even included child porn, I quickly set him up on supervised visitation with our daughter, but it left an overwhelming distrust of the internet. I decided although I was "overcome" with this situation to make the best of it and turn something that I felt was "evil" (the internet) into something that was good (MIP) so I logged on and found you guys and adopted the name overcome, because quite frankly I was overcome at the time. Yet as I stayed here and learned more and more from you guys I learned that I can Overcome all things through my HP, whom I chose to call God. So I kept the nick and with it the positive reminder that my God is at the helm and I can Overcome anything that is thrown my way, if I allow Him to be in charge.
