Tomorrow is Father's Day here in the States. I won't have the chance to post this tomorrow so I am getting a jump on it today.
May I extend a very HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the Dads and Grandpas here. To the Moms who also have to play the role of father this also extends to you all. You have double duty. That's not easy.
This is the first Father's Day without my beloved Tim. I miss him very much. Pipers always managed to get him a card. Such a clever cat she is! I know he's with my Dad and Granddad, along with his Granddad. That is of great comfort to me. It's a bittersweet weekend for me, as yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I miss her just as much. I'm sure she's "supervising" the boys!
Never underestimate the love a father has for their children. They may not show it in the same way that Moms do, but it is a deep and abiding affection that that knows no depths. It gets even stronger when they become Granddads! Never mess with the Grandfather's. So when you see your Dad or Granddad tomorrow give them an extra hug for me. Tell them it 's from a daughter and granddaughter who can't physically hug hers. I can send them all the hugs I want when I look to the skies.
To our "founding father" John an extra special thank you for this place and all you have done. I bet you didn't know that you had so many "children" did you? Thanks to all my Dads and Granddads here who guide me. I couldn't have done this without you.
Much love and blessings to you all. Enjoy the day whatever it brings. As I tell the kids who come into my store: "Make sure you mow the lawn for Dad tomorrow! He needs his rest!" Love to the families and the animals too.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty

Thanks Karilynn. Bless Tim. I can complain alot about my AHsober but he has been a great father to our three sons. They love him for who he is. He doesn't seem to get that this is a family disease but I appreciate that he has been a good provider. My own father and my AHsober's father both died in active alcoholism. They were good but misguided men. It was hard for both of them to be fathers. Times have changed. Men seem so much more involved in their children's lives. My son that gave me two grandchildren is such a great father.
Such a nice wish for all the wonderful fathers out there. You know Chuck was a good father he was an A but a good father, he will be missed tomorrow more than most days.
Luckily I have a wonderful father.....and I get to see him everyday.
