Kindness is the highest form of wisdom...

...that is just one of the signatures that I have had on my profile, and I changed  it perhaps a year ago,   Well, I am not sure that I should have for it is constantly on my mind on an hour by hour basis, so I am putting it back on again.

Anyway, I keep on thinking on this and every time I DO think on it, it works for me quite miraculously and often I find healing in the very act.

It really does not matter how people treat me as long as I do not intentionally go out of my way to hurt them, even if they have hurt me.

Kindness IS the highest form of wisdom and I see it work in my life time and time again.  A catty remark - maybe they are in pain today; an act of self-centredness - maybe they cannot cope with looking or feeling beyond their own pain today; a baize attitude - maybe it is a cover up for something that they cannot face.

Whatever, I could go on and on.

However, IF I respond with a kindness, even if it is only a smile or a no worries sort of response or even a can I do anything to help you feel better about the situation, whatever, whatever, or just make a cup of tea, or share a chocolate bar, or even just sit and listen and be there...the kindness does ME no harm, in fact it grows in me and adds to my positivity.

In fact, it very often makes me think outside of me and my pain, my disappointment, my limitations, my self-centredness...it takes me beyond my "imprisonment" - which is also self inflicted...no one can imprison me unless I let them do it to me.

So, here I am looking back over my journey and I find that one thing stays constant.

KINDNESS IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF WISDOM and it COSTS NOTHING to give it and repays me with such wisdom on how to enrich my own life and that of others along the way.

Just something I wanted to share with you all as I feel so blessed by this.

Suzannah,

It is clear to me that you lead with your spirit and not your ego/mind.  What a different world it would be if everyone would live from spirit.  Instead most listen and live according to their ego/mind chatter instead of connecting with spirit and other peoples spirits.

Namaste,
Christy

Nice post....I am tryin to be kinder and gentler, however, deliberate vicious acts?? BOUNDARY time.....I am not as quick with the trigger as I used to be, but I have zero tolerence for nastiness and rudeness....I might say "I am sorry you are having a bad day" or it would have to depend on "WHO" is the one who acted against me...I find that "talking it over...sharing feelings..coming to a compromise" works for me....

I won't tolerate rude mean acts....However I can be humane about my setting a boundary OR just walk away.....Let go!!!!

I do want to be kind, however, I will not let that kindness be spat upon...

Just my take.....Rosie

The acts of kindness shown to me throughout my life, were, as I now have the wisdom to recognize, many.

I maybe didn't accept them at the time with the wisdom and gratitude they deserved, but they are imprinted in me as sure as my dna.

I hope I can pass it on.

Thanks for the topic Suzannah

Aloha Suzannah...smile

Your journey?  You are so far away from where you started.  It seems that
broken hearted has done alot of mending along with her mind, body, spirit
and emotions.  Your post is graceful.  Isn't that what so many brokenhearts
need?....grace.  What a Godly word.  What a Goodly gift.  Mahalo.
