to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
The last couple of weeks have been trying to say the least, however, I am now quite certain that the programme is beginning to work for me in a most incredible way.
Some of you will know that my relationship with my daughter is not the easiest to work with, however I got a plea for help and responded to it.
Last year was a turning point for me after a really bad experience with my daughter and her children when I organised a holiday for her and endeavoured to look after her disfunctional children for a week and ended up being battered and abused by the ten year old and his two older sisters. After that I took quite a few steps back. I changed my tactics and my responses and kept a really low profile.
Now it is quite evident that I have benefitted by these changes, and although difficult at first, they seem to have become second nature to me which has opened up a whole new ball game whilst providing me with skills and new awarenesses as well as a defence system that really works for me.
As a result, I have just come back from 10days with my daughter and her three children and have not been abused or battered into a quivering heap. In fact I am standing tall and secure in the knowledge that things are changing because I am changing.
What'smore, I learned the delicious effect a cat's purring can make. It is so calming and soothing that I now prefer PURRRRRRFECTION to PERFECTION.
So what if things were not always done to absolute PERFECTion , if it's good enough to make the cat PUR it's PURFECTion to me.
Changing my response, my self and putting me first has made ALL THE DIFFERENCE and everyone was a WINNER, even if it was not absolutely PERFECT and there is still a long way to go...I have begun my journey and I enjoyed having the cat on my lap, purrrring in my ear. YAY!
I arrived home tonight and got a text from my daughter saying: " Glad u r home..I'm sorry it always goes so wrong each time you visit. Thanks 4lovin me xx" Now this might not sound like a real success story to you, but to me it is a HUGE step in the right direction?

Practice, patience, purrrfection. Isn't there a saying that "a cat on your lap is better than two birds in the bushes"? LOL Is that close? Well like you said it's not perfection but purrfection. I think I've got it!!

Good for you! The feeling you get when u make changes & see they have taken hold inside and u can say, 'yes I am different now' is fantastic and the sense of value you get from yourself & others, stays. Glad ur working it!
Incidentally, a happy cat purring is definetley one of the greatest sounds on earth, that joy & contentment they have is contagious & soothing, for me.

Glad you had such a great time. Sometimes we really don't see our programme in action and that can be frustrating. But when you have these AHA moments you know it's working. That's why we stay with it. I always said that my idea of heaven on earth was lying in bed with hubby on one side of me snoring and Pipers Kitty on the other side purrring away. I still find her purring a great source of comfort. Never underestimate what the love of a pet can do. Much love and blessings to you and your family. Keep up the awesome work. Kiss the kitty for me.
