My MIL had a stroke on Friday. She seems to be doing well now but it was touch and go for a few days. I have never been so terrified in my life. She is truly my best friend. How weird is that? My mother-in-law is my best friend!!!!! It happened over a period of days. She had horrendous headaches and had gone to 2 different E/R's, only one did a CT scan and nothing showed up. The 2nd one just reread the first CT scan. She had a 3rd headache and went to a different E/R and they did a 2nd CT scan and it showed bleeding on the brain. She went into distress at that point and was transported to a 4th hospital that was capiable of handling a stroke patient. Thank goodness. My AH and I were notified around 9:30 and by 11 we were on the road to get to her, my FIL was with her but he had a stroke a couple of years ago and gets jumbled and mixed up under stress. (But who doesn't it's just worse for him) We arrived, from OH to PA, at 5:45 a.m.. When we got to the hospital she was in a room in the Nueroscience ICU in critical condition. We spent the next 2 nights sleeping in the hospital. My BIL flew in from NC around 11 a.m.. We stood "vidual" over her, praying and hoping and on the 3 rd day she started to come around and her vitals started to stabilize. Then she became coherent. We had many mini battles with her before that with her oxygen and staying in bed but it was all worth it to see her beautiful eyes open and recognize us all and ask for us each by name. I felt so much relief and so many blessings being given to us. I continue to pray for her progress to conitinue, she will eventually go to an in-patient Rehab facility, in a few days and then home. She is very blessed to be here with what seems to be minimal deficits. The size of the bleed indicated that she would have much more damage than she has, HP is awesome!!!!!!! Please pray for her, thank you all and many hugs to you as well.
Prayers to you and your family. I know how stressful it can be. People do come back from strokes. Try and stay positive. Love and blessings to you and your family.

I know that kind of terror. The fear of being powerless. Thank God for the program that now it triggers surrender rather than fight forever. I am grateful for your post. We are all in my prayers. (((((hugs)))))
