Hello all, It finally happened!...abf is going into a 30 day treatment facility! I couldnt be happier, or more scared. He checked himself into a program (detox 3-5 day) and felt that after he is released from there, he could continue to "do it on his own" with outpatient therapy and AA....which he attends when its convenient for him. I held my ground again and reminded him that his return here was contingent on his completion of an intensive 30 day inpatient program. We have had numerous calls from a facility in Florida where he will get dual treatment and learn the skills and tools that are so necessary in his recovery. He balked at this at first, being as we are in MA, and how would we pay for it, its 30 days, blah blah blah. I told him those were things we would worry about later, the important thing is that they are willing to accept him and give him the help he needs, all he has to do is go. HE IS GOING! He will get a few hours tomorrow to come home and pack up some more clothing etc, head back to where he is and they will bring him to the airport on Friday where there will be someone on the other end waiting for him. I hope and pray that this will be be a positive step in his journey for recovery. I hope and pray that this is what he really wants. I was told by a counselor there that the whys of him going dont matter, once he gets there, it will be only about him. I hope they are right. He is very worried about what is going to happen between us when he gets out. I have explained that that is not something he needs to worry about right now as it hasnt happened yet and that we will talk when he does get back and see where we both are. I owe so much to all of you....and I cant begin to thank you enough. Please pray for him, and for me. seeking peace, jeannie
