A few quotes & Do's & Don't's

One with God is always the majority.
Living in harmony with ourselves is essential
to living in harmony with others.
The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power
within us.
The trouble with many of us is that in trying times
we stop trying.
Here are the do's and don'ts from Alcoholism the
Family Disease pamphlet:
Do forgive
Do be honest with yourself
Do be humble
Do take it easy; tension is harmful.
Do play--find recreation and hobbies.
Do keep on doing your best, even when you fail.
Do learn the facts about alcoholism.
Do attend Alanon meetings often.
Do pray

Don't be self-righteous
Don't dominate, nag, scold or complain
Don't lose your temper
Don't try to push anyone but yourself
Don't keep bringing up the past
Don't keep checking up on the alcoholic
Don't wallow in self-pity
Don't make threats you don't intend to carry out
Don't be overprotective
Don't be a doormat.
And, another one to remember:
Don't be too hard on yourself!
All this is taken from " Alcoholism the Family Disease"
Use them they work!
In recovery, Kathleen

I can very much relate to the quote in trying times we stop trying. I did that with the A I stopped completely could not see a way out and just gave up!

Thank goodness I found my way here.

Maresie.
