I can liken myself to a computer!

Ya see when my AH was actively drinking I had a programme, it didn't work at all but it was the only one I was familiar with, I played it and played it over and over, jeez I would crash times and would still try to restart to no avail, i tried to scan my hard drive for errors and I found loads but I just couldn't over ride them, and then I googled Alanon Mip.

What I wasn't understanding was, I needed a new programme I was ready for an upgrade, thank heavens for Google.

So I upgraded you have to move with the times, and yep it was scary technology is, but it's also a move forward and I often want to go back to the old opperating system because I was really good at that one, but it's out of date now, and it wouldn't work, it's like the comfy old slippers with holes you just can't bare to part with, but then all of a sudden you try a new pair and your away, I still stuggle with word and stuff on my pc, yep I still get stuff wrong but I don't get so down on myself these days, I was using that obselete programme a long time more years than I have left to live, even more reason to spend my efforts upgrading.

Wonderful analogy.  Feel free to hang on to that old program if you need it for a security blanket and as you step into this new soft comfy program...ask yourself..."How was that old one working for you".  Move at your own pace we humans  can be slow to change, silly us we fear the unknown even if it is a 5 star hotel, we chant our montras of but my trailor was nice..."wasn't it"?

Thanks for the darling visual.  Your lil red screaming face photo says it all too.  Have a nice day.  Glad you found us.  Security blankets are ok as long as you don't try to stay warm with them.

Welcome home.
