I met with my attorney an hour beforehand to go over things. He warned me that as luck would have it, we drew one of the toughest judges out of that area office. Sigh.
It lasted 90 grueling minutes, and the chair was so uncomfortable that I had to keep shifting from one hip to the other with my bad back.
Halfway through it I burst into tears, and could NOT shut it off for long through the rest of the hearing.
Nothing like having to tell a judge about why you sought out mental health servcies because you're so depressed you think of suicide daily. Nothing like having to describe how you don't even shower for 2-3 days because you just don't have the energy.
The more I talked about it, the more I cried. The pain just kept pouring out.
Yes, I'm better, but I still struggle with staying focused, especially on my college classes now, and I can still drop pretty low if someone emotionally 'smacks' me at just the right time.
I do go in for another med evaluation with the psychiatrist the 30th of this month, and am going to ask for another small increase in the Remeron because my sleep is starting to break up during the night again, and I feel so tired and beat up when I get up in the mornings.
It will take up to 3 weeks to get the judge's decision. My attorney said we still have plenty of options if I am denied, including appealing again.
It's just sad that so many seasoned con artists who have managed to get disability have made it that much harder for those who really do need it.

At least you were having an honest reaction. Hope everything works out. My son just got out of the military on a medical discharge. What he will get in pmt will in no way make up for the mental and physical damage that was done while he was in combat.
I'm sorry the process has been so hard on you. I do know people who have managed to get it. I know it is really hard. I am glad you have a good attorney who presents you with options.
