Daughter Inpatient/Dad in Hospital

Just when you think you can sit back from all the stress of the family disesase of alcoholism, something else crops up.  Our 20 year old A daughter did sign herself inpatient at the place of her chosing.  I pray to my HP and hers that this place is right for her since hubby and I are not impressed. She is suppose to be there from 4 to 6 weeks, but can sign herself out at anytime.  Thank God we have good insurance coverage.

My dad who lives in AZ had to go to ER for his heart the other day and my poor mom who is in the beginning stages of alzheimers is trying to cope with the person in her live who is her stability in the hospital. This morning he had a scarry episode where the hospital called in the family members!  There is only one uncle who can drive her and he does not live close and his wife is just recovering from open heart surgery. I happend to be on the phone talking to my dad right after this episode where his blood pressure dropped to 80/42 and he was passing out while his heart was beating however it wanted. They worked on him and gave him  3 shots of something and he sounds stabablized as of this afternoon, but they still have no idea what is happening. He has an artificial heart valve, a triplepacemaker and a defibrulator so he is a fragile patient. They are going to do an echocardiogram and are calling in a specialist. Before the episode they were going to send him home tomorrow. The hospital where he is at has  people in beds lining the hallways due to the snow birds! He would be in intensive care but there is no room. My one brother lives in NJ and my other brother disowned us over a year ago. So mom mostly talks to me for advice.

My one aunt/uncle did say they would drive me to AZ if he worsened so that has calmed me some. I am not wealthy or I Would fly there now. We have been through these heart crisis so much with him that it doesn't pay to fly there right away anyway.  All the battery operated machines in him seem to keep him ticking.

I would appreciate any prayers for us at this time. I am hanging on by being able to vent in the chat room as well as look to my HP for help.  I can detatch from my A daughter now since she is in a safe place so actually this timing is quite incredible.

Thanks, again for all your loving support. cdb

I just want to let you know that your family and you have been in my thoughts and prayers for some time now. I think of you often and hope the best for all of you.

I know from experience that when alot happens at once it is overwhelming. It is comforting to know that this place exists and we can come here.

Thinking of you lots

Love and Hugs  JJ
