I have made a pact with myself to post this today. I have been upset with things that are going on with my job and have been letting the stress of it spill over into my personal life. So not good for me. I decided yesterday to start looking for another job and to take all the upset at work as a signal from my higher power to move forward.
Thank goodness for alanon, in my old life I wouldn't have had the tools to settle myself to see I have a choice in this matter. That my happiness is dependent on my taking action to make myself happy. Not by reviewing the upset over and over again in my head until my fur lined pity pot is a permanent piece of furniture in my livingroom. That change is not something to be fought but accepted. Once that is accomplished I can make plans according to what I want in my life. Such different approach to life than I took 5 years ago.
However, and this is a big however and the reason I am posting this morning, it's still a lot of work and a step by step process. So after some serious gratitude list time this morning, I thought I would visit here and write this out as a way to stay on track. Mission accomplished..Time to keep on keeping on :).
Been there done that soooo many times. Those were "just react" places for me until program came along. I felt fearful...I'd react. I felt sad...I'd react. I'd feel frustrated...again react. The slogan "let go and Let God" has helped me slooooow down and kcab pets (step back) and take a more distant relaxed view of where I was at. That's good for me today and a long hard lesson. Another lesson was looking for the answer to the question what consequences am I looking for? Good stuff from great sponsors huh? I didn't know at one time that we had a slogan "THINK" and there it was right in front of me. I may have not seen it because thinking wasn't/isn't part of a reacters makeup.
Today the slogan "Don't react" is important enough for me to have it as my screen saver on this computer. It floats around dives and climbs and keeps me reminded that when I react I can't expect solutions...only a continuation of the problem.
Step one is the only place to start and for me an unmanagable life is great motivation to move on to the other eleven steps.

I sure liked what you said. Want to tell you what I would add to it is,and it is very ok to let it happen and or make it happen in the time it takes, what ever that is.
For me it takes all pressure off.
I moved into my bunkhouse over a year ago.My yard was a barnyard, piled lumber, stuff all over. Now it is being landscaped tiny bit by bit.Got the kennel up,now putting the top on, then the doggy/piggy door goes in.
One step at a time.
I hope you lay in bed at night and visualize your goals. Also my kids and i would put them on our fridge. and Omg it worked.
I was amazed as one of mine was a jeep wrangler. had a couple for awhile.
Now my goal are becoming a better person, being forgiving and hoping to be forgiven too.
Now it is wanting "needs" for my little home. It is to be the best person my hp wants me to be.
I see your goal more as making a step for you than the actual goal. It is so nice you shared this with us.You know some people don't believe they have choices or options. Voicing ow you feel is major. so neat you are seeing this major change for you!!More a major growth.
