We had severe weather move through on Memorial Day, and before I could get my surge protector unplugged, the lightning struck. Casey's General Store behind me went dark as did my house.
It sounded like the earth split in two and I felt a tingling into my fingertips.
It actually blew one of my breakers.
My DSL modem and desktop pc are fried.
I am incredibly blessed as one of my AA friends works in Wichita and offered to pick up a modem for me yesterday, and she dropped it off last night. Her brother is a wiz at fixing computers so she loaded up my desktop and he's working on it this weekend.

That is so good for you! I am sitting here now wondering what I am going to do when my son moves out. This is his computer and the only one that works in the house. I don't have money to buy a new one so I don't know what I will do. Well yes first I will pray to my HP. I am so happy that you finally got your computer and modem up and running!!!
I for one am grateful that it was only your computer!! Here you still are with your ESH and support. Gratitude eh? Remember to keep at least an arms length away from the strike anything less can put you in a casserole.
Wild...check with the Salvation Army and see if they can help you out with a computer. There are other giver's for nothing available also like local churches and the like.
