Surprising People

Being a cashier for about 15 years, my opinion about the general public isn't very flattering. Being a cashier in the "Bible Belt of the South" can be very surprising at times. And last night I had a nice surprise from a gentleman that had just came from some sort of religous service. I said my usual greeting: "Hello, how are you?" But I didn't get the usual response (the surprising part); his reply was "Blessed, how are you?" I had to think about that for a second and my response was simple: "So am I." We finshed the transaction and I thanked him for coming in and wished him a good evening. His response got me to thinking the moment he asked me how I was. It reminded me that I am blessed. Yes, my life isn't exactly how I want it to be right now, however, I'm healthy (allergies aside), my children are healthy (allergies and bipolar disorder aside), I have a job (not being able to stand it aside)smile, and I have people who love me no matter what I say or do.
I appreciate everyone's responses to my earlier post. I read them when I got home from work.
After my HP sent that gentleman to my gas station, my night was so much nicer. I forgot about the fact that other people didn't do their job and I had to do it. I reminded myself that that is usually the case wherever you work. There will always be someone who slacks at thier job and gets away with it because someone like me will come in and make sure MY work is done (which is also THEIR work when they are there) so I don't get into trouble.
I missed a day of work Saturday because of taking my exam. I decided that I will just miss that day on my paycheck. Our schedule is 4 days on, 4 days off and in those 4 days that we work, we work 10 hour shifts. Last week, when I was SO freakin tired, I had worked 5 days in a row to make up for missing a day the week before due to my graduation. I can't work like that. I can't work 50 hours in 5 days. So, I'm not going to. I have to remember that I DO have a choice in the things I do and don't do. What I don't have to remember is that it's because of my HP that I have that choice, and that it's because of my HP that I have the blessings that I have.

Blessings to you all
Jennifer

How wonderful for you!!!It is those pleasant unexpected reminders that hit our hearts, I think. I heard today that those are our HPs little winks to us. Hey you remember me, yeah I am here to watch over you!! LOL I just thought how cute that was and how good it feels when you get one of those little nudges. WOW thanks for that share, I really needed it right then too.

That is a major step, looking at your options and taking the one that makes ya feel better, though will make you have to move things around.

A good feeling isn't it? hugs and BIG smile, debilyn
