I have the best brother in the world!

Several weeks ago my brother called me to see if I wanted his 'old' laptop as he was getting a new one. He has a sound studio at his home where he does radio commercials for businesses all over the country as a side business. He's also the creative director for TIC-FM in Hartford, CT, and also does the late afternoon shift on the air.

There are days my degenerative disc disease really flares up and I thought what a great opportunity to be able to do my school work from the comfort of my own bed, propped up on pillows biggrin

He ordered a new battery for it, and then called me on Monday to wish me a happy birthday and to let me know he shipped it.

I got it today, and it's so nice! It's a Dell Latitude 600. I am having a heck of a time adjusting to no mouse, and a smaller keyboard, but I'll just keep plugging away. I've only had desk top computers, so I am learning as I go along.

I am so grateful for the blessings in my life today smile

That's great news, TH. :) What a great brother you must have. Did you know you can get a cordless (or even a wired) mouse for your laptop? I can't handle the finger plate thingy on my laptop or any other, lol, so sending you a tip!

Man! You DO have a great brother!!! It took me about a week to get used to my laptop and now I have a hard time using the desk top and mouse. I swear, my kids probably think my laptop is somehow physically connected to me. I don't know how I survived without it!!!

Congradualtions on the good stuff comming your way!

Yes, I did know that but I'm going to give it my best shot at learning with the touch pad first. I like a good challenge! biggrin

My bro lives down the road. I am learning to appreciate him more and more. With my situation with my AHsober I have had to depend on him alot. He has a full plate running a business and raising his grandchildren. I include him in my gratitude journal. What a great bro you have for sharing with you.

In support,
Nancy

You can hook up a full size keyboard, too! I spend a lot of time on the computer typing (I do transcription at home) and tend to wear out the keys... my kids have learned to type without seeing the letters on the keyboard :) Unfortunately, you can't replace the keyboard on a laptop, so I use the full size one.

I've got four brothers and four sisters, and at different times they've all been there when I've needed them - and vice versa.

Enjoy your new laptop!

Linda
