I just had to share this with y'all. Thank goodness for this program. I am recovering one day at a time from the craziness I was involved in, perpetuated, and had no control of.
Last week I was working on a part of my recovery. I had a habit that I wanted to break (nothing dramatic) just something that would protect me, different from denial, just allowing my HP to protect me if I would mind my own business and let him.
So I put a little sticky note on my front door so that every morning on the way out, I would remember Day 1, 2, 3, etc. and see my progress. I added the words "love yourself enough Maria and self care."
My 6'2", 200lb. baby son comes over to my place to replace my dvr equipment and must have seen that note on my door.
He adds a sticky note of his own --- "love you Mom" right above my sticky note reminder.
OMG, I was so filled with love for this son of mine . How blessed am I? As I continue to work this program, and love my boys for who they are with full acceptance, they return this two-fold.

I know what you mean exactly.... there is no joy greater than a child like that! My girls bless like that sometimes too and it's better than anything!! The joy is overwhelming!
You and your HP did some things very very right in that kids life!!!
You are a great Mom that has raised a child with good boundries (not HAVING TO KNOW WHAT YOUR NOTE IS ABOUT) and who feels comfortable sharing his feelings and feels safe doing so, and was not afraid to put it in writing, not caring if someone might see it and think he was unmanly (bs)

Yep, he rocks!!! And so do you. ((((giant hugs)))) to both of you! Only since he is a full foot taller then me please do his hug for me. (I hate being patted on the head..LOL)
I bet the second note is still there too, huh? I'd want to look at that everyday also. Have superlicious day!
