Hello little "family" I'm still here! I've just been VERY busy this weekend which is AWESOME. I went to work Saturday just for the day at a local factory for about 10 hours. And while working, standing on my feet for 9 of those 10 hours, I was reminded exactly WHY I went to school to start a different career. I'm NOT meant to be standing on my feet for that length of time. Well, while I was there, I received a phone call at my mom's house about a potential job with Banker's Life and Casualty. I had received 2 emails in one day from the Branch Manager wanting to meet with me to discuss a career with them. I hadn't thought much about it until I got home Saturday afternoon and my mom told me about them calling. So I decided, what the heck! I emailed them back and set an appointment for Monday at 9 a.m. I just happened to be on the phone with my A at the time because he had called me wanting me to go with him to Chattanooga Monday morning because he needed to pick up his W2's and didn't want to drive because he will just be getting off of working a 12 hour shift. I said OOO can we go to knoxville too? I told him what was going on and he said sure, so I made the appointment. This morning, I was supposed to meet him at 7 a.m. but I didn't wake up until 6:24 a.m. because I was up most of the night with my daughter who had a slight stomach ache. He wound up picking me up and I was a few minutes late because I wrote down the wrong directions! Fortunately I also wrote down the phone number and called them to let them know and asked how to get there. Well, I went through this briefing of the company and what they offer and why and yada yada yada and was asked to fill out a survey at the end. One of those "where do you see yourself in 5 years" type of things. One of the things that the Manager said was that this was step 1 of becoming part of the team. Step two would come after he and his manager looked over the surveys and the resumes of everyone that came in today they would call to schedule a second interview if they thought I would be a good person to be on the sales team. Well, I got the call before I even got home!!! So, I have a second interview scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. I'm very excited. It's not what I went to school for, BUT it's what I'm good at: sales and helping people. I'm at my A's house right now. I haven't seen him since last Monday. He's taking a nap before our meetings tonight. He hasn't slept much this past week. Hopefully he'll get some much needed rest tonight. Despite his being VERY tired, he's been pretty nice today. And no, I'm not going to base today on anything or getting my hopes up. I'm taking it one day at a time. And focusing on me. Doing that this past week has worked out very well for me I'm not sure how it's working out for him because we haven't talked about it because I know what he'll say: "Hell I dunno". So, my plan with him is this: Take it one day at a time and enjoy his company when I have it! Whatever happens happens.
Time to get ready to go. I hope everyone is having a good day. Or at least a bearable one. Blessings Jennifer
