Could use some positive vibes today.

I've learned to deal with chronic pain pretty good for the most part. I do believe that attitude plays a huge part in how I feel physically :)

I've been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, and do see a pain management specialist for steroid injections, which definitely help.

I don't do any prescription pain killers since I am also a recovering alcoholic/addict. I try to walk regularly, which strengthens back muscles, and use Ibuprofen if needed.

I'm limited on what I can lift, but with my daughter's work schedule, sometimes I have no choice.

Anyway, last week I threw something out in my back on Thursday as I was lifting her dog (he had just come home from surgery earlier that day).

I do everything that I can here to resolve the pain, and then call the doctor if all else fails.

I have an appointment at 4:15 this afternoon.

It's just been unbearable the last two days, and is really eating my lunch.

I know this too shall pass, but I need a little help from my friends today :)

((((hugs))))

You definately have my sympathy and my best vibes. I've dealt with back pain often. It's the worst!!!! Can't move, can't cough, can't bend, can't stand.
I've been working on strengthening my core as prescribed by a PT. So far so good ....for the last few months anyway.

Healing vibes heading your way....

Christy

Thanks Christy! Yesterday is when I finally made the appointment. I was out running errands, and it was hurting me to even use the clutch in my little Nissan.

The weather has been so wishy washy here that my walking has been sporadic, but it's warming up again and you can bet I will be walking daily, even if it's around a couple of blocks.

PT taught me some great stretching exercises for the back too :)

ouch.I know how you feel. I hate pain pills.

there is a suppliment at health food stores for pain. it is something like curvive or something.

Its expensive but I hear it does work.

I bet having a massage as often as you could would help.

I learned that since my joints are eroded to about nothing, that the tendons and ligaments are overworked too and they tear. Then the muscles get sore too.....

then you tense up from the pain. gads....
Ok you listen here, I will stop picking up pigs and you stop picking up the dog....

We cannot take it.

seriously praying for you. I know I have to remind myself to breath when it hurts badly.

Would give my nose to have a hot tub.

I hope you get relief. let us know. love, debilyn

I have struggled with sciatic pain on occasion. Back pain is so debilitating and maddening. I am sorry that you are suffering so much right now. I wish you quiet comfort asap- hugs, J.

Hey how about this, I have been on the waiting list for a Pain Management Programme since January 2006 and the hospital rang me yesterday to ask,"... are you able to come in on 1 April to begin the programme".

I said, "...hey, you are not supposed to try catch April Fool's until April Fool's Day".

The receptionist laughed and said, "No truly it's not an early April Fool's someone has dropped out of the programme and I thought of you, 'cos you've waited so long."

Ha, their loss my gain and I am jumping over the moon.  Wish you could come with me ((((((Tender)))))). Praise the Lord, at long last I am going and my back, hip, legs and spine are twitching with JOY.

SO, I am with you gal, I sooooooooooo know the pain, and the disability, and the cringing that my spine does when it senses that steroid injection coming it's way
evileyefuriousweirdface......cccccrrrrriiiiinnnnggggeeee OUCH, ahhhhhhhhhhh zzzzzzz!

Keeping you in my prayers ((((((((((((((TH))))))))))))))))
