Today I had to work from 8-6, work was hectic as we were very busy.  Of course the retired AH did nothing all day as usual.

My daughter called at 4pm to say she would be going out to her boyfriends tonight and wouldn't be home until late. I came home to find the AH passed out cold on the couch he'd been drinking since early morning. A year ago I would have had a hissy fit, ranting and raving like a lunatic.

Instead right now I am enjoying the solace of having the house all to myself, no dinner to cook no housework, no AH to bug me. I just wanted to share this with all of you. Believe me the fact that I am able to do this for myself is quite major for me. In fact as soon as I sign off I plan to go out to the hot tub. Then I may settle in front of the fire with a good book.

Thanks Claudia. I keep saying how awful it is that my AHsober left. My counselor challenged me sayng is it a negative? He said go towards the light Nancy. You are showing me that it can be a positive; more time for me.

Cookie, I think that that is great. A wonderful luxury and so therapeutic and indulgent. If anyone deserved that, you did. And I hope the fire was stoked good and the book was one of those really great ones that have you not wanting to put it down until you got to the end.

I recommend hot chocolate and some homemade cookies (no pun intended) too, and the crummier the better.

Never got that chance with my A, but hey could only dream that. Now I have more space than I thought I ever would. Odd how things turn out.
