new job/new leaf

I do not yet have the job I need (that is with benefits and vacation).  I do have something interim which is a mixed bag.  I got to go to the doctors and took care of some pretty important issues.  I am incredilby broke after years with the A. I desperately need dental work and glasses.  I also really need to move out of where I am.  I am taking it one day at a time.  Things are improving for me its very slow but it does get better. I am making a huge list of what I need to do next and working on it.  A year ago I was destitute.  I am in not a great place right now, my resources are meager but I do better.  I get such incredible support, love and concern from you all. I so appreciate it.

For me its braille almost what to do next, dental work (I so need some work) look for a job long term, glasses (I really need a prescription), a home!  I just go week by week and do what I can. I try to do better. I feel better now that I am not in bed.  I also feel like I can move on   I do not know that I knew that before.  I felt absolutely decimated for a long long time.

No I don't have a job that will help with glasses.  I barely have a job but I do better than minimum wage these days.   I am working towards that.  I am also working on getting dental services but it all takes time.

I managed to get in some medical services but I still had to pay quite a bit for them.  I am working on the job/home stuff.  All that takes time and energy and health and I have not had that.

The A made a huge huge point of never putting me on his benefits.  I guess he didn't feel I was worth it.  He took every penny and every thing I had but he wouldn't put me on his medical for anything.  And he'd still take more I just had to say no more, no way, no how.

(((((((Mare))))))))),

What a great post!  So nice to see you coming out.  I, like Debilyn, wonder if there are services in your area that could help with glasses.  I found that when I opened my mouth wink.gifwink.gif and asked for the help, I was amazed at the kindnesses shown me.

At any rate, I continue to pray that you will get a job with benefits and am proud of you for keeping on keepin' on.  Regarding your A and what he thinks your worth is, just remember friend, "don't look for your own image in a broken mirror."  We think you are great and are worth it and your HP does too.

yours in recovery,
Maria

I'm going to work on it.  I took a month just to get a prescription for medication.  I had to go to 4 separate doctors visits.  Getting anything low income is such a huge huge slog.  I have to balance it with pure survival. Remember I live in one tiny room, have no transport and have to run home to take care of my dogs. I have absolutely no back up to speak of.

I still cannot believe the A just dumped his dog on me. He never ever asks after her.  The last call was I need I need I need. I shut that down.

Maresie,

I have been there and so I do know how hard it is. In fact I still have not got to the dental work, but I managed to get my specs. However, I wonder if you have something like the CAB - Citizens Advice Bureau - over there. If so, they would be the ones to help you find out just what you would be entitled to and where to get the help from and help you with getting that help too.

I found it incredibly hard, one step at a time at survival, and fifteen years on I am just coming out of it. I was exhausted and still am, and I do not have a back up or family, either to help out with this, so if it helps any, you are not alone.

I am praying that God with be gracious to you and help you by pointing you in the right direction to get all the benefits and help you are entitled too. I know it is hard to get them when you do not even know what you are entitled to simply because you are not the kind of person who is in the know about these things.

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Flu is so draining, most people think they have it when it is a cold, but when you get it for real you really know you have it and it stops you in your tracks. Take care.

I know that you are being looked after, the job will come along when you are fit to take it, in the meantime concentrate on you and getting ALL the benefits and help you are entitled too.

God Bless

Hopefulheart (moving on!)

no citizens advisory board. There are places you can get specs but I am not sure they would be right. They are donated by people.  I can get something over the counter but I need to have my eyes tested and get a prescription and go from there. One thing at a time. There is no question for me the A took me down and out. He took everything, every stick of furniture, every penny, wrecked everything and would take me out for everything. He wanted me to go live in a field with him!  He was insulted when I would not. He was so far out there.  He did not care what happened to anyone.  I was in shock the whole of last year. I am barely coming back to earth now.

Couple that with living with a bunch of pyschopaths. What I had to go through to get those people out was inhuman. I did not get to use the kitchen for 5 months. I have spared you all most of the ugly details, really really ugly details.

I am broke but far from down and out.
