(by Kathy Glaze)Heres a little story,Of a girl I know.Shes a loving human being,And loved by all she knows. One day she made a vow,Through sickness and in health.Without ever realizing,The impact of its wealth.Theres an addiction in this marriage,It was a ride shed never foreseen. Not the picture that she painted,Not in all her dreams. Its been a long relationship. The alcoholic and her.Hes off dealing with his disease,And she too is dealing with hers. What an awesome person she is,Dealing with what she has.Shes not afraid of any storms,As she learns to set her sails. She will rise above this,Through the ocean swells,Shes letting go and letting God,And picking up the shells. He is working his steps,Through his prison walls,And she is working hers.Life with turmoil is what she recalls. With the ocean breeze,Her sails begin to fill. The life that she endured,Her heart begins to spill.Oh, Its a simple program,But, difficult to work.Admitting that she was powerless,Was her first step and withUnderstanding the statement,It was easy to say, Yes.Accepting things she cannot change,And changing things she can.Its a faith in our higher power,And the wisdom in his plan. Its about restoring your sanity,Nobody would have guessed,Some call her a mountain of strength,It seemed that hed been blessed.Unknowing to many others,Her life was misery and stress.Step four is a moral inventory,Deep within herself. It should be taken fearlessSorting through her mess.Down on her knees,Thanking God for her day.The breeze catches her sail,On the rough and rugged sea.She will work all her steps, Taking one day at a time.Peace is what she longs,Admitting to God and herself,The exact nature of her wrongs.Theres forgiveness in her heart,As she makes amends to others. Her healing is taking course -How painful it was, acknowledging her part.So let us join together,Hold hands as we pray.Well put one foot forward,While she findsher way.
Utterly inspired, thank you Kathy. As a lover of the sea and everything to do with it, I could easily be that ship on the horizon, heading for calmer waters.
May your sails never fail you, may the sea be ever faithful and remember there are many stars here to guide you to a safe harbour whenever you are in need.
I salute you on a wonderful first post.
