Some Grandson Humor

It was my Grandson Devyn's 4th Birthday yesterday.  I decided to take him out to dinner so he could tell me all about his party at day care etc.
Here is the conversation as we were driving to Applebee's.

Devyn: Gramma Jo? (my name is Christy Jo)
Me:  Yes Devyn?
Devyn:  I'm really hungry
Me:  Good!  What do you think you want to eat?
Devyn:  A Happy Meal
Me:  I don't think they have a Happy Meal at Applebee's but I bet they have something else you'd like.
Devyn:  Do they have square cheese sandwich?  (that's a grilled cheese)
Me:  I bet they do, is that what you want?
Devyn:  Yes, but I'm hungry right now.
Me:  It's just a few miles, we'll be there soon.  (It's about 5 miles)

A few minutes/miles pass.......

Devyn:  Gramma Jo?
Me:  What buddy?
Devyn:  It's taking a long time and I was just wondering.......
"How far away does the square cheese sandwich live"????

Ha! He kills me!~
Christy

oh boy ((((((Biatch))))))) so darn funny,

Square sandwich reminds me of my son's first foray at the counter of McDonald's when he asked for a cheeseburger without the brown stuff.

OG, I love children.  They are the most precious human beings.

love ya Grammy Jo wink.gif

one of my all time food favorites was when my young son asked for an "open head samwich"  His sister sure didn't want one of those until I explained to her  an "open face sandwich'' meant no top of bread on her sandwich.

I love kids too.  And they are what have kept me going over the years.
God bless em' and all our kids.

hugs, ddub

I love the age of 4. Still on the baby side but can converse. Devyn doesn't say his R's. He talks like Barbara Walters..lol
Today he got his present from my husband in the mail. It was "Percy" from the Thomas the tank engine crew.

You can imagine the hysterical laughter when he busted out with...

"Gwamma jo!!! I got a Percy!!!!! (keep in mind he doesn't say his R's)

It did NOT sound like "Percy"!! ROFL!!

Years ago, when my son was very young, he would always request his hamburgers "without the salad" (no lettuce and tomatoes). To this day, we still refer to the "salad" on the burgers.
My son's growing-up years actually gave me a lot of new words in phrases in my vocabulary. Love it!

One of my funniest moments with my granddaughter was a time when she was taking a bath and I was sitting in the bathroom talking to her. She wanted to wash herself so she preceded to name all of the parts of her body that she was washing. Well, I nearly lost it when she got to her BAGINA!!!!

What's funny is those family sayings/words become common language for us and raise eyebrows for others.
My almost 18 yr. old son and I both say "yuh-you"  (love you) to eachother before we walk out the door .
He called his big sister nay-nay, which now is shortened to just "Nay".  She's 32.
Then there is chocomilk, persghetti, gree-beans, gapes, firecookies (firecrackers).   Hehe I always liked that one.  In a 3 yr old mind cookies/crackers, whatever..lol

((((((((Christy))))),

What a great story!  I love kids at that age.  I was in the bathroom at work the other day, when this little tiny head popped into my view.  He looked at me ever so innocently and asked "What cha doin' in there?"  I was so startled, so I asked him "What are you doing out there?"  His mother was so apologetic.  But I was laughing so hard that tears were coming out of my eyes! rofl.gif  Hope Devyn and you had an extra special birthday! w00t.gif  Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty lmao.gif

Your "square cheese" sandwich reminded me of when my son suddenly stopped eating his favourite grilled cheese sandwiches.  It took a little digging, but I finally found out that he thought they were called "girl cheese" rather than "grilled cheese", and, of course, being a boy, he couldn't eat them anymore.

I was aware of my sister's humor at a very young age!
One day my mom asked her to put away here clothes.
My sister replied:  I only have one clo.
Just something I remember when I was under the age of  9
and she was about 11 or 12.
That's all!
