TWENTY days to go

((((MIP Family))))))

Just a quick update.  We almost lost her on November 23rd, she was in hospital for 11 days and has been dry since that time.  Definitely not sober but dry.  She enters rehab in 20 days.  We are hoping for the best and cannot wait to have those few weeks of peace were it feels like we will be able to take a deep breath.
I am enjoying having a totally alcohol free home and the A doesn't even live with us.  My decision.  It's the holidays, she is trying very hard and will be around lots.  Think I may keep my house this way.
Have to run and shovel more freakin snow.  lmao
Love you all,
lilms

Entering rehab is a great first step. It's two steps forward, one step backward and relapse is part of it. I wish somebody had told me that; I wouldn't have had my hopes raised so high. Make no mistake, entering her first 28 day program was part of the way back for our daughter too, but there is no miracle cure, of course, not in 2.8 days, 28 days, 280 or even 2800 days! They still don't even know what they don't know yet. But here's hoping yours chooses to learn the easier way rather than the harder way!smile

The wonder of it all is that you are able to 'lmao' and I thank you for that.  And I am both grateful for your post and touched too.

I hope you really do enjoy the space, peace and holiday time enough to relax and rest too, as well as do battle with the 'freakin snow'!

God bless you and keep you healthy.
biggrin
Heartbroken.

oh I cannot imagine having a child be sick with this horrible disease.I hope so much your little girl, (aren't our kids always kids?) can learn how to give herself serenity in finding a recovery program just for her.

Also I know you all will get a bit of a reprieve knowing she is safe.

much love,debilyn
