My AH casually announced to me last night that he has to go to Court tomorrow and the Judge wants him to bring proof that he is in an alcohol treatment program. Of course he can't do that because he's still looking for that 6 week program that will give him a certificate saying he is no longer an A. He had promised to call me today after he talked to his lawyer and, of course, he didn't. He called me about the dog who was at the vet today and I had to ask what his lawyer said. He said they will go to Court tomorrow and his attorney will ask for ANOTHER continuance!! I didn't know he had gotten a continuance in the first place. This one will be to give him more time to find a program. The Judge may very well throw him in jail. Might do him some good.
Sometimes jail can be the best thing for them, sometimes not. Whatever the outcome, keep the focus on you where it belongs. Love and blessings to you and your family.

P.S. Waht kind of program will give him a certiifcate that states he is no longer an A? Once an addict always an addict, active or not. Hmmm.....

Well, whether he gets another continuance or ends up in jail, that doesn't change the fact he'll NEVER find a program giving him a 'certificate' that he's no longer an alcoholic!
It really is sad to see such firm denial and their twisted version of reality, isn't it?
Just keep taking care of yourself! ((((hugs))))

I called the program that he claims to have found - same place he went to detox - and they said all he has to do is sign up and could start the program the next day. The continuance is supposedly based on the fact that he hasn't been accepted into the program yet. So he is lying to me and his attorney. I just hope the judge will see thru this. I am not going to Court with him, as I am supposedly on my deathbed with cancer and it wouldn't look good if I showed up looking in perfect health....
