Hello all... I know I haven't been seen much round here, but I've been so busy putting together a great new life. My A wife and I separated almost a year ago, and under my state's laws, I can now file for divorce. Folks, sometimes things don't work out, and that's not a bad thing. I have never been happier...my kids, too. Someone told me this atr an Al-Anon meeting: "there is nothing noble about suffering". Excellent advice.
Thanks for the responses...remember, you and your kids DO NOT have to suffer. Detatch, let you A find his or her own way.....you have your OWN life to worry about.
I completely agree. I finally let go of my husband a year ago and no it hasn't been easy by any means. I haven't been on here for months but just read back a few pages this morning to remind myself that even though financially and emotionally this last year has been hard...life is so much easier and more peaceful now for my son and myself. I'm 48, work full time and trying to get into graduate school. Am I nuts - probably but I'm on my own adventure now. I'm not waisting my life to save my husband ...because i can't. Serenity is a beautiful thing!!!

God bless you. It seems we are on the very same page. We're even the same age. Be strong, you are NOT alone.
I cannot express enough how wonderful life is now...sure, things are tough emotionally and financially, but the fact that I've been able to remove the horrible consequences of living with an A more than makes it worth it.
You do NOT have to sufferf, folks....you really don't
Thank you, God Bless you to. Maybe we can be an inspiration to others that even at our "young" ages we aren't to old to start new lives and live better than ever before. You are so right that others here don't need to suffer. When you come out from under the cloud life really can be incredible.
