so far, so good...

I posted a few weeks ago about my clean A's relapse talk.  It has stopped, for now, and he hasn't given in to his impulses.  I'm proud of him.

He's back to Red Bull or Pepsi when he goes out, forgoing the "non-alcoholic" beer.  He passed up a couple of opportunities to buy/smoke weed, as well.  Last time was when he went out to see an old friend of his whose band was in town.  The guy asked him to go out and get high with the band.  He said, "no".

He seems to have heard what I've been telling him:  That his sobriety is his choice, alone, and it feels like the manipulation (trying to get me to OK or forbid him drinking or using) has stopped.  At least, for today :)

Glad to hear this good news cen.  And, you know....one day at a time is all we can ask for.  My prayers are that his sobriety continues for all time, and I wish you both happy holidays,

Diva

((((((((Cen)))))))),

Glad to hear that. The one thing that has helped the most is maintaining open communication with A. He feels more at ease and comfortable with me. He knows the more I stay out of his recovery, the better off we both are. The tensions are released. Staying focused on us really does work. Love and blessings to you and your family.

Live strong,
