My rent is going up $90 per month, gas prices have risen, and my daughter needs glasses. I will be applying for a 2nd job down the road. I am hoping the manager will allow me to bring my 10 year old to work with me. There's only one way for me to find out, and that is to ask. As things are going, I have no money for more than one Christmas present so I was also hoping to use the extra job to pay for Christmas. I was hoping to get a better paying full-time job, but that is not looking so good right now. I have been praying faithfully for HP to help make this a good Christmas for my daughter and help me get her eyes examined, so she can get glasses. It can get very depressing when there's not enough money. I am trying to stay positive and writing a gratitude list, but the worry is weighing heavily on my mind. Will you please keep us in your prayers? Thank you.
((((Lisa)), My prayers are with you and your family.Xmas is such an overwheling time especially when u r broke, believe me i know. But hang in there and hope you can make a few extra $$ to help with xmas, if not just explain to your daughter that u dont have $$ t but more gifts and wehn u get a bit extra u will buty her something special, she is old enough to understand now, so don't stress yourself out too much over it.Good luck, and thanks for sharing.I ahve 3 daughters 23, 14, 7(autistic) and am on soc ass right now which im not used to but we will make it, nothing grand but it will be good, we will be together.
I can relate. My kids want high priced items like Nintendo dX and stuff. Just can't afford it- or if I can then I can't get them anything else. Can't get stocking stuffers, tree, all that stuff unless I close my eyes and hand a credit card over. What a nasty trap they got us into. I really believe that if we hang in there it will happen for us. I know it wont kill the kids to go without nintendo, but glasses are glasses, you gotta have them, and they are not cheap.

I think this year we all are feeling the crunch. I will pray that your income situation will get better. I can relate my AH retired last summer and we still have a daughter in college, so things are very tight at our house too. I have found in years past the the Christmases I remember most fondly were those where we did without much.
I will pray that HP provides a way for your daughter to get her glasses as these are a necessity, and that your manager will be understanding about bringing your 10 year old to work.
Take Care of yourself,
Claudia

yes, I have two jobs too. I think its more common than we think. You are not alone and you will sort this out. Your HP will take care of it all- its going to be OK. if there is one thing I feel is safe to say as a generalization about us al-anoners, its that we are highly resourceful bunch of people and manage to make all the ends meet no matter what. You will too! I am rooting for you!
