I know many of us will be with family in the upcoming weeks, and on today. There is a temptation to take their inventory, now that we have "seen the light and found the path." I have found, as time has gone on, perhaps it is by learning from those who have not "found the truth" that I learn the most. I find, more and more, that those who choose to live in ways that are dysfunctional that I learn the most about myself. I also have found that people who choose to not recover often do so for their reasons and do not need to "be saved" or "be witnessed to," least of all by myself. I find that these individuals are perfectly capable and happy in their own ways and lives, and do not need censuring, editing, or controlling. The best thing I have found is that people who want what I have will find me when they need me because they know I have what they can depend on when they need it. No one will want what I believe I have to offer if I insist on giving it to them. I think also by being present and being availible I can enjoy myself more than if I were trying to insert into a situation.
