Coloring Therapy

I found this online after looking for codependency recovery information.

http://www.coloringtherapy.com/

There are free mandalas online if you google them.

Now this is very interesting  - my daughter has been getting headaches which the doctor saya are stress and grief related.  Her art teacher gave her some papers to colour that were very like this - complex but not hard - and she finds it really helps her head.

Pretyy darn cool! I lived in SF and there was a cathedral with a mandala on the ground, laid out like a path and people walked it. One of those things I always wanted to do...

Kissers, I discovered mandalas and coloring therapy years ago, and it has helped me keep my A-type personality under control on more than one occasion.  I always keep a vast array of colored pencils around, and love to color.  It takes us back to when we were children trying to "stay in the lines."  Thanks for letting all of us in on this.

Thanks so much for sharing this website!!!
I have a couple of coloring books (winnie the pooh and the disney characters) and a big box of crayola crayons (with all the new colors).

I've always like to color but I like this idea of the mandala.
I'm going to check out the site more too!

Happy Thanksgiving :)

Please don't laugh at me ya'll for this...but for YEARS and YEARS I have al-
ways colored in the "Yellow Pages" of the phone book to just take my mind off
life at times! I can't stand crayons...I have to have the felt tip marker pens...
even though it runs through the pages. <LOL> I color inside the pictures of the
advertisement I know I won't need...like new windows...(I rent)...stuff like that.
Oh! If I only had a printer to print some of these out on the website! I'd be in heaven!! <LOL> I always thought something was "wrong with me" for still loving to color at the age of 50!! <LOL> That's what I love about ya'll>>>You make me
feel "normal"! I'm not alone!! <LOL>

Afmom!

You are normal!!!! It is very therapeutic! I just purchased an old desk and bought paint. I will be painting this weekend. There is something so soothing about watching the brush move so eloquently across the surface of a piece of furniture. It is stress relieving. I bought a very large paint by numbers canvas for a friend in Alanon, who is not interested in painting at all. He did start painting and noticed a very calming feeling when he paints. Maybe we are all just artists deep within and what we do with our lives is our artwork. We can leave wonderful impressions or ghastly ones. I'm in an artistic mood right now, so please excuse. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Love,
Lisa
