Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success. - Brian Adams
We could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world. - Hellen Keller
(((((((Everyone))))))))
I have found myself lately being anxious and tired. I know it happens at times, but I have had a hard time shaking it and getting all my stuff done. My list is just endless. (who's isn't, right?)
Woke up this morning and was reading and having my "God time", and realized that I have lost my patience over the past week or so... gotten a little uptight with others requirements of me... you see, I found myself catering to others (mostly my kids) to the point I was not doing what I need to do.
I saw it... didn't do anything about it, then I guess started beating myself up for falling into that same old familure cycle.
But just for today... I am going to slow down... pick a few things that are important and work them until they are done. If I get distracted, that will be ok... I will just take a deep breath and hit it again.
I hope you are all well, and know you are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care of you!

What a great idea! Gosh, as many times as I hear have patience and then more patience I guess I just forget! The line that really stuck out for me today was "If I get distracted, that will be ok.....I will just take a deep breath and hit it again." Lately, I get distracted and then overwhelmed and then I just sit and cry and feel sorry ofr myself. But just for today, I will just pick myself up and begin again. Thanks rtexas!
Okay RT ... slowly hand me that stick...I'll burn it with mine so we can't beat ourselves with them any more
Sound like you hate you've found yourself in an old place. It's really easy to go back to old behaviors, cut yourself some slack and tell yourself that today, atleast you recongnize where you are...there was a time you probably wouldn't have even caught the slide.
For me, when I feel impatience I find it's usually something inside myself, whether I'm trying to control something that I can't, or fighting what "is" at the moment, or just losing my gratitude....lots of times it's a combination of all of those. It helps me to just stop and root out what the cause is instead of trying to push forward. We don't always have to be moving...as my sponsor would say "There's a lot to be said for doing nothing."
If this wan't a sign from HP I don't know what was. I had just decided to "play hookie" from work.
Since I came back from vacation work has been nothing but chaotic. How many things could I without going nuts?!!
I was snuggling in bed with hubby feeling very cosy. I absolutely didn't feel like facing work this afternoon. So I called in and told them I had a migrane. Okay, it's not too far from the truth as I did have one this morning. But sometimes you've got to take time for you. I will probably beat myself up about losing the hours (hence the money). But it is a 3 paycheck month and somehow we always manage to get through. So I'm going to crawl back in bed with my hot chocolate, cozy up to hubby and just relax. Maybe read, eat popcorn, maybe snooze. It's a Pipers Kitty day. It's a chilly fall day here in the northeast. Time to enjoy it.
Thanks Rtexas for making me see that I can't juggle everything without dropping the ball. I've always known you were an angel. Love and blessings to you and your family. Hubby says thanks to you too. Pipers will bring you a mouse in appreciation for telling her Mom it's okay to be human!

WOW you got me there...
And that is just what I am going to do and I am going to hang on to that one too.
