Rose and I are pretty excited about our wedding that is right around the corner. July 7th, 2007. Just days away. Our families will be sitting in the same rooms for the first time... oh gawh... two dysfunctional families celebrating with us LOL
Friends from Al-Anon, AA and NA will be present... we arn't sure but it looks like it could be a couple of hundred.
The wedding is all arranged now, the reception is all in place, with great food, dancing and a live performance or two scheduled. One of my Groomsmen had to leave town due to family emergency, and two days later another relapsed, so we had to hastefully replace them and get the tuxedo's ordered for the replacements in the 11th hour so to speak. I tend to forget from time to time that my AA family and friends are alcoholics, and thus a bit unpredictible, and can pull a good drunk at a really bad time.
Rose has worked her butt off setting up all the details, and my arm has had a good work out handing her all the money to get them paid for. We might even have our wedding in a news broadcast due to it taking place on the triple sevens.. 07/07/07. We are not sure how many, or who of the MIP site is going to show up to celebrate this wonderous day with us, but we do hold out hope that some of you will make it.

Without a doubt it would do our hearts good to see, meet, and spend time with members of MIP. For without our recoveries, which MIP is a big part of, this day would not be happening.

A Hope is something you are willing and able to pursue to achieve A Expectation is something you want someone else to do. Hope is about yourself Expectation is about someone else.

Will be thinking of you on your special day, I celebrate my 46th birthday, and yes it is all the 7's. I was 16yrs old the last time this happened, how time flys lol!

So sorry I will miss the big day ~ but will be thinking of you two!
I hope you both have a wonderful day. I also hope that everyone around will be able to stay sober through the celebrations. I know when I got married the fear and trepidation were terrible. I have to say it was one of the most miserable and fearful days of my life. I had no recovery then to speak of.
I am glad that you are both going into this with so much recovery under your belt. You have a chance at making it.
I will have to use my imagination on how your wedding will be. Yes I have been to some good ones and I know they happen when all HOPE they will happen. Get a chair of prominence for your HP...right up in front at the reception table.
WOW! Hard to believe that it is here already. I am so excited for you both. While I can't be there physically, you will be kept in my thoughts all day long. I will be smiling from ear to ear as you start your new journey together.

To John and Rose, Congrats in a big way! I would have loved to attend, meet some MIP members but my work schedlue at this time is unforgiving. But he is a wish for the both of you! May you always see each other in the same light you do at this momment. May you never allow time to pass where you fail to tell each other how much you mean to each other. May you always see what a wonderful gift that love is. May you always work for each otheres best interest.
