I spent the day at the beach and then decided to take birthday girl and the rest of us out to the mexican restaurant in town. When it came time to get my check the waiter told me someone had already paid the bill. Mind you, I have one or two friends in this town and don't know many people even casually. He wasn't very clear about explaining who it was. It sure made my weekend tho bcuz I wasn't sure if I could really afford to go or not and then I didn't end up having to worry about it. Wonder if I have a secret admirer?
Isn't it wonderful when anonymous mericles happen in our lives? I remember one time I found out I was over drawn. I had just treated myself to indian (mmmmm, one of my faves!). I went to the bank to balence out my checking. And still, it wouldn't clear. The manager waived me off--when you get paid next, he said, just come back and pay the bill. Don't worry about it. True to my word, I came back and paid him, plus tip. He said "I completely forgot! I thought you'd be one of those dis-honest americans!" I said "it meant alot to me that you did that. You trusted me without knowing me. Thank you." I put it on my gratitude list and haven't forgotten it since. :)
