Thanks so much for the support & prayers - our family really appreciates it.
Barbara is still in the hospital recovering. She did finally start talking to her husband yesterday afternoon around 5:00 - tried to smile & make a few jokes. Still in a lot of pain. She is still under observation and monitoring.
I saw a picture of her bus on the news this morning - It was nauseating. The Imparied Driver is in custody and has been charged with the following charges: THIRD Offense DWI Child Endangerment Negligent Injury Drug Possession Driving Left of Center Driving under Suspension and No Child Restraint And he is only 33 yrs old.
The news media didn't release any other information on the two children that were riding with him. Prayerfully they are doing better.
Today, my emotions are all over the charts. As much as I know about the disease, I'm still pretty angry. And yet, it scares me, too. I guess because I know just how easily it could have been one of my A's driving that vehicle. And that makes me sad. So I'm angry, scared, sad - but most of all once again - POWERLESS over alcohol and addiction. Damn that sucks. (sorry, for the language - just couldn't think of another way to say it.)
Wishing you and yours peace and safety, Rita

I am glad to hear that your sister in law is doing better. I understand the anger part. Like you, I understand that this is a disease. What trips me up is how can they do that? That's when I go back to Step 1. I will continue to keep your family as well as all that are affected by this in my prayers. Keep thinking good thoughts that all will be well. There will be some good that comes out of this. I have to believe that.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong,
Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
