I can see there have been a few changes made to the board. Can someone please tell me what the five stars are in the upper right hand corner of peoples posts?
Please, please, please tell me we are not rating people posts. If so, then everyone deserves 5 stars just for having the courage to go through this labyrinth called recovery.

Two things: 1. Recovery is a process, not an event.....and.... 2. You only get to go around once. Leave em laughing and make it worth your while
it may be a *private* rating ... a means for you to remind yourself which threads are of particular help/interest to you.
If you notice... there is a rating possible ONLY for the thread, not for individual posts within the thread.
I don't know... just have experienced rating systems that do work that way ... no one else sees my ratings and I don't see ratings of anyone else. Can help keep me focused instead of remaining stuck in doing what brought me to Al-Anon: trying to be all things to all people, trying to read all posts, for example. :) :)
Active board has added several new features that I didn't even know about, and so I looked into the rating thingy and yes, I do have the option to turn it on or off. I personally feel we are better served by keeping it off, so we don't have big headed high raters and depressed low raters. LOL
I hope ya'll agree, until I hear a roar from the group that we should keep the ratings, I have went ahead and turned them off.

Thank you John, for turning it off. I have enough problems with my ego, self esteem and humility. Whenver I take the risk to share what's going on b/t my ears (a very dangerous neighborhood), I worry so much what people think.
Well I am with you , all posts are good things . What stars are u talking about my page has none and if john can remove that button I hope he does . Rating posts also is a set up for the person posting , ego could get a little out of whack , hehe seems we Al-Anons suffer from taht too. thanks for bringing this up . Louise
thank you John for turning the ratings off...We are judged by so many standards in life...we don't need to be judged by our shares. Just my opinion. Again...thank you. One of the reasons I could share on this board was that it was Alanon...take what you like...leave the rest. ...and no one rated what you said :)
