Took son back to the city to see the specialist. He has inflamation in his eye and was given a steroid for it. The doc couldn't tell us yet how he is going to make out as far as his vision is concerned. I went back to son's last night to give him his meds (he isn't able to do it himself) while his fiancee wasat work. Since he started the steroid at 4:30 pm, you could almost see it heal!! But the doc warned to only give it 4X/day, as it could cause a 'meltdown'! Scary!! I couldn't settle down to sleep at his place and got home at 4am. A has been absolutely wonderful!!(I knew he had the potential!!) I was 1/2 expecting to see him drunk when I got home (as has been the habit for the last 10 years). I am sooo proud of him!! He has been 100% supportive all the way! I'm beginning to have real hope that he has really kicked it for now (knowing that he was sober once, for 12 years, then relapsed, I'm not expecting miracles, but then, I see them every day, sooo.... who knows??) I'll be going back to son's tonight, then unless we hear otherwise, it's back to the city tomorrow.(I don't think I'd survive working the night shift at my age!!) HP has been givingus the strength to get through this, thank-you again for all your prayers, it means a LOT, with love, TLC
Such good news about your son. I'm glad hubby has been there for you too. Like you, I try not to get my hopes up too high when it comes to his sobriety. But he has been so well, and everyday he stays sober, makes me even more proud of him. Enjoy this time with him. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers tonight.
Love and blessings to you and your family.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
P.S. I'm too old for the "graveyard" shifts any more too!
