And I am doing the happy leader dance. The girls did great, though, earning around $700.00 for their troop. Now I have to help them spend it!!! Every year, I say I am not going to let the GS Cookie sale take over my life, but they still do. So I have written a little humor to share with my fellow leaders, let me know what you think.
1.We admitted we were powerless over cookies..... They are in our garages, all 3 freezers and in the car.
2. Came to believe that once cookie season was over, our sanity could be restored.
3.Made the decision to turn over all cookie trouble, questions and concerns to our Service Unit's Cookie Manager.
4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of the slow selling flavors we are probably going to be stuck with. Good thing we have all that freezer space.
5. Admitted that we overordered.
6. Were entirely ready to throw in the towel and sell remaining cookies to any troop leaders crazy enough to take them.
7. Humbly asked somebody to please take them....
8. Made a list of all who still owed us money.
9. Collected money when possible, left semi-threatening messages when parties were not home.
10. Continued to take a daily cookie inventory and scheme how to get rid of them.
11. Sought through our cookie manager and other leaders an understanding of the paperwork, lack of paperwork and how does e-budde help me if I have to do it twice?
12. Having had an awakening as to the TRUE nature of GS cookies, made a list of people we can rope in to help us next year.
HaHa, those cookies have reigned our house for awhile, we are still moving the last of them, H is mad cause he has to deliver the last bits while I am working. But those Samoas...
Now tell me I have to detach from those! Jamie

OMG! I laughed out loud all by myself reading that! Thank you! My daughter was also a Brownie/G.S., so I know that of which you speak! Love in Recovery, Stuffed to the Gills with G.S. Cookies Becky1
Great job! I have to print this out for my GM, whose daughter is in a troop. She accidentally "misplaced" her order sheet and you should have seen him scramble to figure who ordered what. Worst yet, he had to go and ask each of us. Poor guy dealing with my memory. I probabaly ordered more than I think I did. Oh well, hubby loves the peanut butter and I'm a thin mint woman myself.
Love and blessings to you and your family and all the cookies.
Live strong, Karilynn & Pipers Kitty
