I am just checking in. I haven't posted in a while. I thought I should check in, share a little bit, and give gratitude.
First of all, I do recognize that I have come a long way from my first days here, I say that for 3 reasons, 1, To share my experience with new folks that come in here in chaos like I did. 2, To share the strength that I got from the folks here, from the open AA meetings, and from the various Face 2 Face meetings you all sent me to. 3, To share the hope that our Higher Power gives us and has given me.
In my case you've all given me tremendous strength, and letting Go and letting God has yielded vast amount of serenity and peace.
My AW has been sober now for 3 months. We have had a lot of ups and downs, some intense enough to make ke question my sanity. We see a marriage and family therapist (MFT). The MFT has done a great job of helping us learn how to deal with each other in our recoveries, and how to improve in our communication. What would we have done without him?
I find the open AA meeting I go to very valuable. It helps me understand how my AW sees things. It helps my AW cut out the BS since she knows other Alcoholics have revealed the secret. Especially things like selfishness and self centeredness. It also reinforces to both of us my sincere and intense need to not be a DOOR MAT.
Anyway, TODAY life looks good. We are doing many fun and happy things together as a loving family. Bike riding. Weekend trip to our vacation place in the Big Bear Mountains.
Tomorrow will be what tomorrow is. Tomorrow is up to my HP and his will.
