I love alcoholics and ACOAs. Subconsciously I would pick someone who was emotionally unavailable and who had a fear of intimacy & abandonment, so when the relationship ended I could blame it on them. I was also afraid of the same thing. The alcoholic looked like the bad guy, but I was just as bad. He would pull away and I would put up a brick wall or cry and whine. Talk about progress! I finally see my part in it.
