Sick how I wake up crying & won't talk or reach out to anyone. It is most often when I am the worst off, depression wise, that I won't utter a word to anyone, when I need to the most. That is part of the nature of depression - isolating, desperately, alone.
I love this Board & encourage us all to write, vent, share in chat & mtgs to alleviate the sufferring we experience.
We're all in the same boat, literally. At least by writing it opens up a forum for us to let go of our feelings & get feedback, very effectively. God, give me the strength to continue to reach out.

Hi Kitty, I didn't wake up crying...but I did wake up much earlier than I would have liked with a racing mind. I think seeking out support on the board and sharing your feelings can be helpful. I am learning that to share my feelings with my AH is something that he can't handle right now, which leaves me feeling unloved, disappointed and resentful. I have recently developed a liking to typing out a letter to my AH on the computer filled with everything I am feeling. For me this is an outlet. He'll never receive the letters, but I've had a chance to get out what it is that I need to. I believe holding in those inner feelings leads to illness and pain and dis-ease.
Isn't it crazy how we tend to discount our feelings, think we are undeserving of emotional support, and believe sharing our pain can't help???
So glad that recovery is teaching me another way - I too can still go back to those old ways - but thankfully it begins to get too painful & I have places to reach out for help - like MIP, my home group and many wonderful recovery friends.
Glad you are reaching out.
Love & Hugs, Rita

hi kitty i usually go to sleep crying either way, it is such a sad and lonely feeling isn't it wonderful to have this place and all these beautiful souls to be able to reach out to?! today i watched my children get into a swimming pool - they do not know how to swim...but they instinctively pushed themselves to do what they couldn't...the thrill in their eyes as they imperfectly succeeded was infectious! i came home and called a friend and asked to get together....definately related. i feel the momentum of positive outreach...one little step seems to lead to a somewhat easier second little step. your reaching out and sharing honestly here about your depression today was a wonderful step...may it lead to the next tiny step and may you feel strength from the love that is always coming from your hp and from us. love, fifi
We are all here for you. I found when I was depressed that even calling someone and talking about anything helped alot. Sometimes I didn't even talk about what was bothering me, it was just knowing there was someone there to talk to that made all the difference....I didn't feel so lonely. Keeping our relationships open and ongoing with our family and friends is very helpful to our recoveries.
So true that this our online support is a safe haven to always come to. I haven't gotten to the point in my program where I can call my sponsor at 3am, so the boards and chat are comforting, even if it's just knowing they are there when I needed them.
