I left my AH and am very happy!

I haven't been on this board for a long, long time mostly because I feel like I don't need it quite so much. I left my AH and got my own apartment. Before I left him, I was working three jobs to get enough money to move out. With the help of a very good friend and a little extra money, I was able to move out. I'm not living in luxury, but I'm doing alright. I do miss my AH at times and wonder if I should move back, but then he will text message me from a bar and say he's at home all alone. I know he's at the bar, because it is right down the street from where I live and I see his truck there when I drive by. Then I know moving back with him is the wrong answer. He whines and cries that I was everything to him-no I wasn't, the booze was everything to him. He says I took his step-son away from him-he didn't even CARE about his step-son. It is very helpful for me to check this board out again and to read the posts because it sure helps me remember what my life was like not too long ago. He says he didn't realize I wanted him to stop drinking. I was floored!! I only begged, threatened, screamed and cried for two years about his drinking. How could he not know??? Anyway, life is good for me and the best thing is that I can focus all my energy on my son and me, where it belonged all along. Good luck to those of you still in the middle of it.

You Go Girl!  Thank you for your post.  It gave me some more encouragement to follow through with what I started.....working on kicking my AH out of my house. - Thanks again.
Sincerely,
QOD

Congratulations Lindy,

Sure wish you'd reconsider and come back to help out those who are walking in what used to be your shoes.  It's so beneficial to have a diversity of experience, strength and hope here.
