the race to see who can drink the most, I suspected. I posted here on Saturday night about how myA asked to come here and sleep on the couch after an 8 day binge with his drinking friends. I decided to say Okay and let him in after the reverend drove him over. My Ah was hungry and asked for something to eat and I fixed a plate for him and a cold iced tea. No problem. He laid down,half-sleeping, (I don't think anyone goes solidly to sleep after that kind of drinking) and quite nasty with the same clothes he'd been weaing for days. He stayed down all night and all the next day. I fixed Sunday breakfast for my daughter and I while he slept. And I also fixed Sunday dinner for us and my Mom. We had a good day while he stayed down ( he never even got up to go use the bathroom! And he did not have an accident on the couch either. Wish I could go that long without having to go! LOL ...Anyway I just left him alone. I know how his stomach kills him after a binge and he stays laying down for 2 days in a row. Well, yesterday morning After I left for work and he apparently got right up, got a ride back to his place and then came right to my job (that's okay) to thank me, tell me he was going to get some money a fellow he did work for owed him, and he'd see me later to give me money for our car insurance. NOT! He went right back to his place, started to drink again (unbeknownst to me at that time), and when I called to ask him about the money, the man proceded to to tell me about myself. It was pretty funny because I got him at each accusation!. He hollered at me for not even offering him food on Sunday but I told him that I did not want to disturb him because I thought he was asleep after what had happened to him and thought I'd better let him rest and let his stomach get better. And I said had I known he was awake I certainly would fix him something to eat as I had absolutely no reason not to. He couldn't argue that so he proceded to tell me how I used our kids against him, telling him upset they were but they were fine when he spoke to our daughter. He said she was fine and doing her own thing. So I nicely told him they were upset when he drank, we all were, because we were worried about him, afraid it would seriously hurt him, we were concerned and sorry about what happened to him. And I said that we knew we couldn't do anything but leave him alone and go ahead doing our own thing. He couldn't say anything to that. About the car insurance, he said he's trying to pay his rent, etc. and all I do is ask for money. But I said Oh,no. I didn't want it for me as I had money to cover myself but I needed his money for his truck. I didn't want any money at all for myself. He couldn't say anything. So I found a reason to hang up real quick and said I'd talk to him later. And later HE called ME drunk again. But I didn't argue and HE hung up on ME! Actually, he was comical because he slurred about how I didn't feed him! He hung up on me and I went to bed, read for a while and slept soundly!.......jaja
I think you handled that situation great! Its amazing the stories they can spin when their drinking, or they want to drink. My AH is a sober A, but he can still spin stories to change the attention off himself and put it on me. Its one of his favorite things to do when he knows he's done something wrong and doesn't really have a good explanation. Keep the focus on you and what's important to your life. Your A will figure out what he needs to do eventually. Way to keep your serenity and peace, a very good example of detaching with love. Thanks for sharing.

Great job girl. Way to take care of you. I always find it amusing that the A's can't remember all the evil they say to us but they remember the one time we dont offer them some food or comfort. Keep up the good work.
