A POem...

I am the Lucky Girl to have you both….

I just wanted to say

How thankful I am for you each day

I may not tell you how much I love you, or how much I really care

Let me tell you the love has always been there

You both are my all

The ones who picked me up every time I would fall

Where would I be without you??

I feel so small in this big world, but I have you two

I know that your love is true

I was once a lonely girl with a dream

A dream that nobody had ever seen

It came true the day that God brought me back to you

I know I am not the greatest at showing affection

There is not a day that goes by that I don’t thank God

You are my reason

My heart beat

My life

I love you!!!

That was dedicated to my lovely grandparents. I have not given it to them yet. I am going to make changes.

It's wonderful!  Your grandparents will be very proud that you would honor them by using your talents to express your love for them.

It is very good to hear from you.  Hope you are well.

Take care of you!

Hi Lauren,

Was thinking about you last night and I get on this afternoon and here you are.  Your poem is lovely.  I wouldn't change any of the words.  You have written it as you felt it from your heart.   Can I make a suggestion?  Before you give it to your grandparents buy some cheap paper with a nice border and print it out and then get it laminated at a newsagent.  That way you grandparents will be able to keep it for many years to come.  They are blessed to have such a caring granddaughter in their lives.  I am sure your poem will give them a lump in their throat.  Take care.  Luv Leo xxx

((((((((((((Lauren)))))))))))))))),

Very proud of you sweetie.

I love Leo's idea. My son once wrote a poem about his dad and I put it on beautiful paper, mattted and framed it. It hangs proudly in the living room.

Way to work your program, nice to see you working your gratitude.

Love ya
Maria

Hey our beautiful Lauren Ashley,

So great to read your poem - thanks so much for sharing with us.  Yes, I agree your grandparents will love it.

Many years ago - I wrote a letter to my Grandfather for Father's day - just saying thanks for being a spiritual influence on my mother's life & on mine, how much I loved him & was grateful that he was a good great-grandfather to my daughters.  There were a lot of things that I didn't like about my grandfather, but in the process of healing I choose to acknowledge the good.  The next time I visited him - He had purchased an 8x10 frame and placed the letter in the frame & put it on top of his TV in his living room.  Although he may not have been able to say the words to me - his actions said more than any words could have ever said.  I know he loved me despite the disappointments he had in me - It was very healing for both of us.  When he passed away a few years later, my Mom gave me the letter - I keep it in the frame behind another 8x10 photo - just to remember what love & acceptance is all about.

Thanks again for your poem - it brought back a wonderful memory.

Rita
